AC Milan coach, Stefano Pioli, granted an interview to the microphones of Milan TV to discuss the game against Genoa in the Italian cup competition. Here are his words:

"We have to try to do our best and win tomorrow's match. It is an opportunity to demonstrate our skills and our positive moment. It is a game that will present different difficulties than in previous matches, because Genoa plays very compact football and in some moments very aggressive, immediately ready to restart. We will have to be very lucid and clean from a technical point of view."

On opportunities of some players:

"It must be a situation, an opportunity for everyone to exploit. Then there are players who have played a little more, others a little less, but what counts is the team play, the approach to the game, having clear ideas and carrying them forward continuously throughout the whole game. That's what we want to do."

Pioli on the fans:

"Together with our fans we are certainly stronger, more energetic and more intense. Their presence is certainly an additional stimulus and motivation. Sorry that for the next matches there will be only 5,000, but even with this number, with the right behavior and the right support, as our fans know how to do that, they will help."

On the players who play on the left:

"They are guys aware of their qualities. We work in a prestigious club and there are many expectations, but they are what we wanted and we need to grow further and still try to reach that last step that we are missing to go from competitive to winning. These kinds of pressures are welcome, I think it is a privilege to live them. Let's not forget that our left wing has always been very important and that Rebic is also a very decisive player."

On the Covid-19 cases:

"Fortunately, those of these days have all been episodes without symptoms, without particular problems. From home they have never stopped working and I believe that their recovery can be facilitated compared to other situations", said Pioli.

On Shevchenko and Tassotti:

"The welcome given to them by our fans who were present at Marassi was super: two players who have made the history of Milan and who have now embarked on another career and are demonstrating their own qualities. Clearly they are two very serious people, two great players and I wish them the best also for their coaching career."
