In an interview with Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport, Paolo Scaroni, AC Milan's president, spoke about the current moment in world football:
"There is no doubt that the clubs have suffered. Of course we are entitled to it: we will continue the battle. The objectives? Not the postponement, but the cancellation of taxes. And many more refreshments for our facilities. I do not do theory, but practice: Milan - Juve game would have brought us 5 million euros, and we are talking about just one Sunday. Who will return them to us? We want to resume as soon as possible, in compliance with the numbers of infections, the path of total filling of the stadiums."
Scaroni continued:
"The budgets of the clubs are in enormous suffering due to all the measures linked to Covid they have suffered. We pay the millionaire salaries that are guaranteed to the players, so it is difficult to "feel sorry", but also the actors have very rich salaries. The world of entertainment, including theaters and discos, was deemed worthy of aid, football only to a small extent. And this difference exists only in Italy: just look in France or England who have full stadiums. For us it is really unfair, the government must understand our problems."
