AC Milan boss, Stefano Pioli, spoke to the media in Dubai about his players' current moment so far this season:
"Milan need everyone. Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) and Olivier (Giroud) know what it means to win and the sacrifices necessary to achieve great results."
What is the target for Milan?
"I think this team has great potential. We have never ruled out anything, but this is my current point of view: we collect more points than last season, play every game as if it were absolutely decisive and then see where we go. Not being involved in other midweek matches will allow us to do targeted work and give our players more rest."
On the team's growth:
"It was a job that involved all the members of our club. Elliott Management has put us in a position to do our best. After a few days at Milan, I felt something I had never experienced elsewhere: I immediately felt at home. This is what Milan is for me: home", declared Pioli.
On the pressure:
"Pressure is part of my job, but it's also motivating because it reminds me that I can always do better. During a journey, there may be moments in which you slow down, but the important thing is to keep going and never stop."
Pioli on the European experience:
"We have learned a lot, but above all we are aware that we have to do more because the bar is very high. These are details in the Champions League. Getting used to playing certain games allows you to acquire vital knowledge and experiences."
On Dubai:
"The city is constantly evolving, something that has not gone unnoticed in the sports sector. We are proud to be part of Expo 2020 Dubai with the AC Milan Academy, putting our experience and the values of our club at the disposal of local children. I'm curious to see how the city has changed over the years. The impression I got was that of being surrounded by buildings in continuous transformation, and of being in places where time and space have no limits."
