Adrien Rabiot spoke to DAZN after Sassuolo-Milan. Here are the Frenchman's comments.
Amorim analysed the goal conceded and said you had not "killed" the game:
“We score and then immediately allow two balls in behind, and Mike saved us. We cannot sit so deep after scoring and lose our concentration. We need to work on our mentality and improve in certain phases of play. We also did some good things today, but I am disappointed to concede a goal in a situation we work on regularly in training. For me, these are two points dropped today.”
Did you expect to have a few more points at this stage of the season? Rabiot commented:
“In a match like tonight's, we can do better and take all three points. It is true that it is not easy to play here against Sassuolo, who sometimes let you have the ball and then break quickly on the counter-attack when they win it back. They have quality players, but we knew that. We need to manage certain phases better. We should have more points. We have done reasonably well in our last few matches, had possession and created important chances that we have not managed to convert. That disappoints me because we cannot afford to keep dropping too many points. Otherwise, there is a risk of falling behind.”
What does the coach ask of you to get more players into the box?
“As I said earlier, we need to get more players into the box when we attack. That is how you score goals. We go forward with too few players. We need to improve in that area as well. The midfielders have to make runs into the box, and the full-backs also need to play offensively. We work on this in training, but it is not always easy to put these things into practice. However, I agree that we need to get more players into the box to make the most of our possession. We always have possession, but we create far too little.”
