AC Milan directors, Paolo Maldini, Frederic Massara and Ivan Gazidis have been working together to keep important players on longer terms with better salaries. After Simon Kjaer, Davide Calabria, Theo Hernandez and others, the attention is now on Rafael Leao.
Tuttosport writes that the Rossoneri are aiming to extend the former Lille's star deal for a few more. The Portuguese left-winger, for his part, does want to stay and has asked his agent Jorge Mendes to find an agreement with the Serie A giants.
There is a problem, however, that blocks the process. CAS (Court of Arbitration of Sport) has ruled in favour of Sporting and instructed that a compensation of 20 million euros should be paid to the Portuguese club.
Once this issue has been resolved, writes Tuttosport, AC Milan and Rafael Leao can finally move forward together thanks to a much-awaited renewal.
