Simon Kjaer has been absent due to a season-ending injury sustained against Genoa on December 1, 2021.
The Dane defender has been missed because he gives a lot of experience and confidence to his teammates on the pitch. But thankfuly, the Rossoneri have done very well by inserting Pierre Kalulu into the first lineup who took over from club captain Alessio Romagnoli.
The return of the Dane defender, though, will always be an extra boost for the AC Milan team of Stefano Pioli. Having depth and quality is always a plus.

As Milan Reports understand, the experienced Denmark national team captain is targeting to be ready just in time for the new season. He could be available to play in the pre-season friendlies.
Today, Simon Kjaer trained on the pitch at Milanello and took to his social media to update the fans with a photo with the following caption:
"Good day at training today .. still some work to do"
