AC Milan are your new champions of Italy. Stefano Pioli prepared for this so well. The whole team sacrificed themselves on the pitch and now they get to celebrate the Rossoneri's first Serie A trophy in 11 years. Each player who contributed to this win will now be remembered and enter the history books, deservedly.
The head coach of Milan spoke to the microphones of those at DAZN and said the following:
"My players are phenomena, I am happy for my players, management staff, fantastic fans, the whole world Milan deserves this scudetto. We deserve it for what we believed in it and for how we played. We have been the most continuous, I don't like talking about the episodes, but the last game we lost was with Spezia that we shouldn't have lost. The guys had strength and mentality and never gave up. They were all fantastic, especially those who played less and never lacked intensity."
He added:
"We were good at always believing in it, we deserved it and the managers gave us enormous help. If you win a championship, it means that all the components have given their best. My staff and I enjoyed working with this group, looking for the best solutions. Knowing that players know spaces and movements makes me feel pleasure because they take pleasure in doing these things. We knew we could fight for something important, the management was good at creating a mix of young and old and they built a mentality that allowed us to always believe in it and be courageous especially in the defensive phase."
Pioli concluded:
"My idea is to improve the players I have available but if there is no talent it becomes difficult and therefore the management was good at taking talented players. Theo made a leap in mentality and in the ability to stay inside the game, perhaps it also helped to be different off the pitch. He is a top in everything and so congratulations, because he is a fantastic guy. I dedicate this Scudetto to my father: wherever he is, he will be happy with what I have done."
