Arrigo Sacchi, AC Milan's former legendary head coach, expressed himself to La Gazzetta dello Sport to talk about the Rossoneri and the new season:
"It will be a strange tournament, that's for sure. The most determined team and the one with the widest squad will win, because in a season like this you have to budget for so many obstacles. The World Cup can affect, and not a little. It's a new experience and we Italians don't get along very well with the news. One thing I want to say: you are playing too much, there is no time to train and this inevitably comes at the expense of speed, beauty, emotions and the show."
On AC Milan:
"They can improve by working on the collective. If Inter and Juve can have any limits, this is in team play. Milan, on the other hand, must be superior in terms of the game, not having the individuality of rivals. They will need to apply a good pressure and they must train a lot on ball possession, the players will have to focus a lot on attacks in the spaces. Milan must have synergy and compactness. The frequent movements and the interchange of roles will be decisive in the construction of the maneuver."
Arrigo Sacchi on his favourite to win the Scudetto:
"I would say Inter. Large squad, lots of experience and quality players. In attack, they have incredible potential. They have two men per role and in this way they can remedy any injuries or loss of performance."
On Juventus:
"Usually, they don't miss 2 Scudetti in a row... The important thing is that the bianconeri rediscover that team spirit and that willingness to sacrifice which, probably, they had lost a bit in the last season."
Arrigo Sacchi on which team will make a surprise in Serie A in the new season:
"Mourinho's Roma could be a surprise. Mou has done a great job last season and achieved a success in the Conference League which is useful fuel to take on this championship. I think that Napoli can also carve out an important space for themselves, but the discontent of the fans towards the club is not a good start... Then, pay attention to Fiorentina who play courageous football. It will be necessary to see how the new center forward, Jovic, who arrived from Real Madrid, will integrate."
