AC Milan Women’s team Slovenian midfielder Dominika Conc spoke today in exclusive interview with Radio Rossonera during “Il Diavolo Veste Rosa”, a weekly show dedicated exclusively for the rossonere hosted by Lucia Pirola, and shared some interesting insights about her life, career and this experience in Milan and Serie A.

Here some of the most important quotes:

On how she spends her free time

“At home, i don’t really play PlayStation that much, I rather read a book, than I have Italian lessons because I do have to learn it better, to talk better, my grammar is not the best, you know?”

About the Covid-19 protocols

"At the beginning it was a tad strange, but now its normal. I think we’re very luck to be able to play, even to train, so, for me, it’s not a problem to take the tests, to follow the rules. The good thing is that we can do what we love the most, to play football. We’re very protected and it’s good to us”.

About playing at the San Siro with no public against Juventus

"It’s a quite different experience, something that not a lot of people will come across. So, for me, whether it is empty or not, it’s an honor to be able to play at the San Siro. When the fans come back it’s gonna be better, of course, but just being there is something fantastic.”

When the fans come back

"It is always better with the fans at the stadium. We are a little sad that we cannot play for them but when they return, things will be even better than before."

On those Derby della Madonnina goals

"It’s wonderful! That’s a very special thing because those are not another games, those are Derbies, they are huge and scoring on them is fantastic."

About Coach Ganz and the symbolic gesture of taking off his jacket

"I never really noticed it! When I’m on the field I don’t pay attention to those details, whether Mister has his jacket on or not. In fact, didn’t know about that! He is very passionate and for us, it’s a good thing, I think."

So many nationalities at AC Milan!

"It’s something very positive to me, because allow one to learn about different cultures, perspectives and so, but, in the end, It is football, you know? It’s a universal language. I think we are a great team, we came from different countries but on the pitch, we’re on the same boat, players and staff. I think we all speak the universal language of football. Besides, us, foreigners, we have Italian classes to attend and the Italian players try to speech and comprehend English."

The experience at the NWSL

"In the USA, football is mainly a women’s sport and that’s why so many of them play it over there, and it is much more physical. The players are great there."

Playing in Serie A

"The Serie A is much more physical than I expected, we must run a lot! It’s not an issue for me, the game is also very technical but it’s really fast!"

On the growth of the League

"The Serie A is getting bigger, better every season. If you take last season and compare to the current, there are improvements already, even in Milan. I think this league will reach the level of the biggest leagues in Europe, and some of the men’s team, like Milan, Inter and Roma are of great help in this."
