AC Milan managers continue to push for the renewal of Portuguese left-winger Rafael Leao as pointed out by the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition.
There have been more positive news recently about finally seeing the former Lille star put pen to paper. The source claims that the club directors are aiming to lock down the player on a deal around 7 or 7.5 million euros including bonuses.
The big obstacle, however, is always the fine that must be paid to Sporting Lisbon. But, this legal dispute should remain between the player, Lille (who signed him when he unilaterally terminated his contract) and the Portuguese club. Therefore, this issue should concern Leao's representative and not AC Milan.
On one side there is Ted Dimvula , French lawyer and Leao's current official representative. On the other hand, there is Jorge Mendes, former agent of Leao but also advisor of Rafael's father. They all want their part in the deal. AC Milan, therefore, must bring them all to the table get everything sorted out.
A meeting between AC Milan and Ted Dimvula, in any case, is scheduled for next week and more will be understood after that. The release clause (150 million euros), which can be exercised in first 15 days of July will also be discussed as it is another obstacle to be addressed.
Meanwhile, in other Milan news, AC Milan are thinking of this Serie A left-winger as Leao's back.
