The AC Milan directors, Paolo Maldini and Frederic Massara, will be looking for a quality boost to the midfield department that is currently available for head coach Stefano Pioli. The Rossoneri, especially in case of achieving Champions League qualification for next season, will try to secure the arrival of an important player.

The future of Rodrigo de Paul at Atlético Madrid hangs in the balance as his performance this season has come under intense scrutiny, with the exception of a handful of standout displays. As a result, four Serie A clubs have already expressed an interest in acquiring the Argentine's services in the upcoming summer transfer market window. The player himself is aware of the attention he is receiving, and has formulated a set of conditions that any prospective suitors will need to satisfy in order to secure his signature. De Paul, in fact, wants to play Champions League football next season.

According to 'Fichajes' who cite Calciomercato, four Italian clubs have emerged as serious contenders to sign De Paul. Of these, both Lombardy giants, AC Milan and Inter, are said to be particularly keen on bringing the player on board, as they may offer him the opportunity to play in the UEFA Champions League next season and match his current salary. While these two clubs would appear to be the frontrunners in the race to sign the talented midfielder, two other Serie A outfits, AS Roma and Juventus, are also reportedly in the mix.

At present, however, neither Roma nor Juventus are as attractive an option to De Paul as the two Milan clubs, given their less-than-secure positions in the Champions League race. While the capital side is currently battling Milan for a top-four finish, the Rossoneri are widely seen as having the edge in this regard. As for, Juventus, they are hampered by a number of factors that make it a less-than-ideal destination for De Paul, including looming sanctions, a mid-table position in the league, and the possibility of a further slide down the league standings. As such, the Argentine's future in Italy remains an open question, with the race for his signature set to intensify in the coming months.
