AC Milan's Portuguese left-winger, Rafael Leao, is certainly one of the leaders in Stefano Pioli, on and off the pitch. Now, he is even more important as he wears the symbolic number 10. While not too long ago, the Portuguese player sometimes prioritized aesthetics over substance, he has now become a true driving force increasingly dedicated to serving the team.
As per La Gazzetta dello Sport in this morning's print edition, Leao is aiming at specific personal and team objectives for this season. He wants to surpass the 20-goal mark across all competitions combined, surpassing last season's 15 goals. If he were to achieve this milestone, it would undoubtedly increase Milan's chances of winning the league title and securing their second star which is also something that Leao wants to do.
As for the other target, Leao will focus on the derby that will be played on September 16 once he is done with the national team duty. Pioli will once again rely on his champion, who is becoming increasingly decisive not only in terms of goals and assists but also in his overall contribution to the team.
