The former Atalanta manager, Stefano Colantuono, gave an interview to Tuttosport ahead of Marco Sportiello's debut with AC Milan against Hellas Verona, where he will start from the 1st minute against the Gialloblu .
"He's certainly a reliable goalkeeper, but the first characteristic I want to emphasize is that he's a good guy. He has always trained with great determination, he is predisposed to hard work. He has the right structure for the important role. And compared to when I coached him (2014/15, editor's note), he has surely improved. He's still young, at 31. Goalkeepers, compared to outfield players, reach their peak maturity around 29-30 years old."
On Marco Sportiello, he continued to say the following:
"This means that Sportiello can still play another five years, so maybe his best and most glorious moment is coming now. He entered the game well against Newcastle, he did his job, that is, he did what he had to do, with a very important save for the Rossoneri. After all, Milan didn't choose him by chance: with Sportiello, they can rest easy. The Rossoneri can sleep on seven pillows, as they say. As the twelfth man, he is certainly one of the strongest in the league."
