After the victory against Hellas Verona that concluded an intense week, AC Milan is preparing for another 15 tough days with four matches to be played, including three away games scheduled.
The first of these will be on Wednesday against Cagliari, where, out of necessity, Pioli will opt for some rotation. Sportiello is confirmed in goal (Maignan not called up); in defense, Theo Hernandez is expected to return, allowing a shift back to the 4-3-3 formation; Florenzi, Thiaw, and Tomori will complete the backline.
In midfield, in the holding role, there may be a possible seasonal debut for Yacine Adli, with Loftus-Cheek and Reijnders as central midfielders. Up front, Olivier Giroud will definitely rest and Rafael Leao probably: there could be a starting spot for the trio Christian Pulisic, Samuel Chukwueze, and Noah Okafor, according to Milan News.
AC Milan 4-3-3 likely lineup:
Sportiello; Florenzi, Thiaw, Tomori, Theo; Loftus-Cheek, Adli, Reijnders; Chukwueze, Okafor, Pulisic
On AC Milan's bench:
Mirante, Nava, Calabria, Pellegrino, Bartesaghi, Pobega, Musah, Giroud, Leao, Romero.
