The day after the long meeting in the municipal council of the City of Milan, Mayor Giuseppe Sala also spoke today about San Siro and the next steps that the municipal administration will take in the coming months.
“We will do two things now. On the one hand, we will appeal against the decision to impose the constraint by the Superintendence, and on the other hand, we will invite the teams to reflect again on the possibility of staying at San Siro.”
It is important to remember that both Inter and Milan have always ruled out the possibility of continuing to play in an installation that they now consider too old and that would need a major and costly structural intervention.
Regarding the constraint, Mayor Giuseppe Sala added: “We consider it unjust, unfounded. The appeal is an act of protection because that is an economic damage to our asset, so if I didn’t do it I wouldn’t feel like protecting the stadium. In addition, we do it because we see this constraint as a push. However, I have no idea what the timing of this procedure will be.”
