In his editorial for Tuttomercatoweb, Italian journalist Niccolo Ceccarini spoke about Stefano Pioli's Milan objectives in the transfer market window.
According to the journalist, there are two profiles identified by the club managers for a potential move in January's transfer session. The names in the shortlist are the following:
- Jonathan David from Lille.
If the asking price remains at 40 million euros for 23-year-old Canadian striker, the operation will hardly take off. Hence, other hypotheses are also being considered.
- Matija Popovic from Partizan Belgrade.
The 17-year-old's contract with the Serbian club expires on December 31. An agreement is on the verge of completion with the 17-year-old versatile attacking midfielder (who can also play as a striker and left-winger). A contract for him is ready until 2028.
Niccolò Ceccarini also analyzed Milan's transfer market strategy to reinforce the defense already in January. The names reported by the journalist are two players who are not getting much playing time in their respective Premier League teams: 'On the defensive front, the Rossoneri club is seeking the best option. And in this regard, Milan is still looking towards Chelsea.
One of the options, in fact, is 22-year-old French centre-back Benoit Badiashile. However, the condition is that the English club agrees to a loan. Also to consider is 23-year-old Polish central defender Jakub Kiwior, who is not finding much space at Arsenal. He is familiar with Serie A as he played for Spezia in recent years.
