AC Milan are satisfied with the abilities of Primavera starlet Jan-Carlo Simic who delivered excellent performances recently. However, the plans don't change in the market. The club would like to sign another defender, even after the return of Matteo Gabbia.

Geoffrey Moncada and Antonio D'Ottavio are interested in Lilian Brassier from Brest as he is seen as the right profile who will suit the Rossoneri team. The 24-year-old centre-back of Brest, on the other hand, is also liked by Monaco, Porto and Bayer Leverkusen.

Milan management has already received total approval from Brassier, who is pushing to join compatriots Mike Maignan, Theo Hernandez, Pierre Kalulu, and Olivier Giroud. An agreement on contract terms seems like a mere formality now. However, the situation with Brest is more complicated: the initial request for a loan with a purchase option did not excite the French.

In fact, Brest is having a dream season, currently sitting fourth in Ligue 1, just four points behind second-placed Nice. That's why their intention might be to keep Brassier at least until the end of the season, but the player's desire can play a decisive role in this negotiation. The valuation is around 11 to 12 million euros but could rise given the significant interest from different clubs.

Following the approach used last summer, Milan is operating on multiple fronts. Lenglet remains in consideration despite starting two consecutive games recently for Aston Villa: he wants to leave in January.

Geoffrey Moncada is very attracted to bringing the experienced French defender to the Rossoneri, but difficulties remain due to the cost of the transfer fee and the high wages of the Barcelona loanee. Brassier has become the priority at Milan, with Lenglet as the backup plan, as stated in the report published by Calciomercato.com.
