The young attacking midfielder's agents demanded a commission fee which was deemed 'excessively high' by the Italians.
Popovic's arrival in Milan yesterday morning had led to the expectation of an imminent conclusion to this operation that Milan had been pursuing for several months. But, that was not the case: it was immediately clear that the biggest obstacle to overcome was the agents' commission. This issue remained unresolved, causing the negotiations to sign the 18-year-old to fail.
