AC Milan's defence this season has struggled a lot. Too many goals conceded and the injuries obviously play a big part.
According to what is reported by Calciomercato.com, the Rossoneri club management has been working to find a solution in the market: the return of Matteo Gabbia from loan is not enough; another addition is needed.

The first option is Alessandro Buongiorno who is 24 years old. He is confirming himself at decidedly high performance levels. Personality, great physique, leadership, and excellent tactical intelligence: Alessandro has the right characteristics to have a great career, both in the club and in the national team.
Milan is convinced of this and has placed him at the top of the preference list for the designated defensive reinforcement. Geoffrey Moncada and Giorgio Furlani have already discussed a potential deal with Torino's club president Urbano Cairo, as well as RedBird advisor Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the recent meeting between the two Primavera teams at Vismara.
The mission for January is very challenging because the evaluation exceeds 35 million euros, and the Granata club is not in a hurry to put its defensive jewel on the market. Contacts, however, are ongoing, and nothing is excluded: Milan is serious and ready to include Lorenzo Colombo in the negotiations.
In case of a negative outcome for this winter transfer window, the Rossoneri management already plans to resume the negotiation in the summer. The last-minute plan B is 21-year-old Tanguy Nianzou from Sevilla: proposed by agents, he can arrive on loan.
