The mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, once again spoke about the future of the San Sito stadium with the increasingly concrete possibility of seeing Milan and Inter build the facility on property away from Milan.
Here are his words, as told by Calciomercato.com:
"Today we have a constraint, which is a lease contract until June 2030"
He added:
"If the teams really decide to leave and formally communicate to us that they are now on another horizon, I cannot risk creating a loss to the municipality and wait until the last moment to find a buyer."
Giuseppe Sala continued:
"In reality, there have always been interests in San Siro, but these are all things I keep in mind because I wouldn't want to end up having to sell it to someone else."
Sala concluded:
"We could obviously also enrich the area, beyond the stadium, because there are attached volumetric rights that are those provided by the Pgt (territorial government plan), so it could be a solution."
