The Juventus number 7 was attended to by the medical staff to assess his condition, following a tackle from the Brazilian that struck the outside of the same ankle that had swollen after a hit taken at San Siro.
The player, however, got back up and returned to the field, but after a few minutes, at Massimiliano Allegri's urging, he permanently left the field limping. We will know more in the next few hours, although the coach's decision should have been purely precautionary.
