Marko Lazetic, Milan's striker on loan to Fortuna Sittard in the Netherlands, has given an interview to gianlucadimarzio.com, explaining that his goal is to return to the Rossoneri team:
"Leaving on loan is never easy. My goal is to improve every day through hard work. I hope to return to Milan. Sometimes you have to pay your dues before playing for Milan. If my goal is to return as a starter? Absolutely yes, 100%."
He added:
"I hope to return to Milan as soon as possible, but I am aware that there are still some steps to take. I will do everything to continue improving. But I take things as they come, I think about the day and then we'll see. Since I left, I have improved in three things: working harder, understanding how to be in certain environments, and gaining experience. This doesn't mean I wasn't giving my all before. Those who know me know that I am a hard worker. But I am still young and physically I still have to grow. If I continue like this, I can become a great player."
Lazetic also spoke about Rafael Leao and Olivier Giroud:
"Power and extraordinary ability: Rafa (Leao) is impressive. He has the talent to become the best player in the world. I don't want to say he is the best player on the team because the locker room is full of world-class players. Everyone is important. Milan wouldn't be Milan without each of them. Then, of course, Rafa has something different...Giroud? Olivier is an extraordinary player and a great person, unfortunately underrated in football. His goals against Inter two seasons ago brought us the Scudetto. That was also my first call-up to San Siro."
On Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Lazetic said:
"It was wonderful to train with Zlatan because he is a fantastic person. And he speaks my language... Every day I watched him to steal some things and add them to my technical baggage. Unfortunately, we didn't train much together because he was injured for almost the entire season. For the little we did, he gave me a lot of advice on how to shoot on goal. And that made me improve. Zlatan is very strict but he only wants the best for each of us."
Lazetic is 20 years old. His contract with AC Milan runs until June 2026. So far this season with Fortuna Sittard, he made 9 appearances with just 176 minutes played without being able to score or provide assists.
