This morning, the municipal administration of San Donato Milanese formally submitted the request to join the Program Agreement for the construction of AC Milan's stadium in the San Francesco area to Lombardy Region, Metropolitan City, Italian FS Group, Italian Rail Network, Urban FS (State Railways) Systems, and Sportlifecity.
Here are the words of Francesco Squeri, mayor of San Donato, as relayed via Milan News:
"The stadium project represents a unique opportunity for development and attractiveness not only for the city of San Donato but for the entire southern Milan area. For this reason, as the Municipal Administration, we strongly feel the duty to seriously evaluate the intervention with the aim of advancing the interests of the entire community, also by opening moments of dialogue with the citizens and the mayors of the area."
