Divock Origi, the 29-year-old Belgian striker who spent an unsuccessful season on loan from Milan at Nottingham Forest, will return to the Rossoneri this summer. The Premier League club announced that they will not sign him permanently. During the season, the former Liverpool forward managed to score one goal only and it was scored in the FA Cup.

The financial impact of Divock Origi's return on Milan's balance sheet:

The player arrived at the beginning of the 2022/23 season, after his time with Liverpool ended. Since he was acquired on a free transfer, his cost amounts to 660,000 euros, which is the commission paid to the agents for his signing, as reported by Calcio&Finanza.

This season, the former Liverpool player has cost Milan 165,000 euros, which is just the amortization quota, since his salary was covered by Nottingham Forest. If he stays with the club, his cost for the next season would be 5.4 million euros (including the 4 million net salary he signed for, valid until June 30, 2026).

His net value on the balance sheet has dropped to 330,000 euros. This means that, in case of a summer transfer, Milan would only need to receive a higher amount to register a capital gain. Additionally, in the event of a sale, the Rossoneri could save on the amortization quota for the 2023/24 season, which, as previously mentioned, amounts to 165,000 euros.
