CorSport: Rabiot to Milan is very difficult due to high salary demands

This morning, Il Corriere dello Sport tries to shed light on the Rabiot situation with Milan being interested in him. First of all, there will be a need to clarify the future of the French midfielder with Juventus: last year, around this time, the Bianconeri retained the former Paris Saint-Germain player by having him sign a one-year contract.

In 19 days, therefore, the player will officially be a free agent, but considering his participation in the European Championship in Germany, his position – at least with Juve – should be clarified before the competition begins.

According to reports, the director Giuntoli went so far as to offer a three-year deal worth 7 million euros net per season, which Rabiot reportedly rejected: the player is aiming for at least one million more to get closer to Vlahovic, who, with 12 million net, is the highest-paid in the entire squad.

In this scenario, Milan is trying to get involved. Specifically, it is technical director Geoffrey Moncada who has requested information from Rabiot's entourage – led by his mother Veronique – regarding costs to understand the feasibility of a deal that is not so simple.

The biggest issue is the financial demand. According to today's report from the newspaper, there is talk of the possibility of offering a contract worth 7.5 million per year: the Rossoneri club would rely heavily on the contract duration and the inclusion of bonuses. However, with the salary cap that Milan imposes on itself, it will not be easy to conclude this deal. Certainly, the addition, technically speaking, would be of great value: not only for the player's quality in a position that can be improved but especially for Rabiot's experience, which would partially fill the gaps left by players like Giroud and Kjaer.

In the background, the Premier League, and above all Manchester United, is watching with interest. On the other hand, Milan remains on the trail of Fofana from Monaco, a national teammate of Rabiot and a decidedly more economical profile.
