So far, Milan has only completed one transfer, which is the permanent acquisition of Alvaro Morata from Atlético Madrid, but they are definitely one of the most active clubs. The Rossoneri are working to strengthen all areas and have started several negotiations: the plan is to finalize two defensive signings, two midfielders, and one attacker.
This morning, Tuttosport reported that around 130 million euros will be needed to sign these five players, distributed as follows: 35 million for Fofana from Monaco, 25 million each for Pavlovic from Salzburg, Samardzic from Udinese, and Emerson Royal from Tottenham, and 20 million for Fullkrug from Borussia Dortmund. The club hoped to have at least one of them ready for Paulo Fonseca before the departure for the U.S. tour, but that hasn’t happened: unfortunately, none of them will be on the flight to New York this afternoon.
At the moment, Pavlovic is undoubtedly the closest to joining, as he is pushing for a move to Milan (he turned down Atlético Madrid). The distance with Salzburg is decreasing, and therefore a resolution is expected soon. On the other hand, the deal for Fofana has become complicated after Monaco, due to interest from Manchester United and Atlético Madrid, decided to raise the asking price to 35 million euros. Negotiations with Udinese for Samardzic, who is valued at 25 million euros, are still in the early stages. Finally, a new offer is needed for Emerson Royal, as the initial offer of 10 million plus bonuses was rejected by Tottenham.
