Arrigo Sacchi commented to Gazzetta dello Sport on Pioli’s team and how the group is doing well despite the recent loss against Juventus 1-3 at the San Siro.
The legendary former Milan coach wrote the following: “Milan and Pioli must continue like this. With Pioli at the helm, Milan are proving to be a really worthy team. They are a group of youngsters giving life to a collective that allows them to improve individually, to have fun and to stay ahead of the league, despite the fact that the club has an economic power lower than at least five or six rivals. Pioli carries on his mission with excellent results: this allows him to dream along with his players and fans. The ideas and work of everyone, from the managers, to the coach and the team, help the club not to collapse. A positive example in a country where, to win, the focus has always been on money and debts rather than on innovations and hard application.”
“Let’s not forget that ideas, beauty, and courage make a man free. With the hope of seeing a championship based on values such as the search for emotions, harmony, the desire for culture. Football is a team sport with individual moments, not the other way around: this is how you win in general also in Europe. Unfortunately, this is a very rare event for Italian teams in the last twenty years.” concluded Sacchi.
