AC Milan and Inter are both trying to expand their presence in the modern football world by building their own and new stadium which has been in the agenda for some time now. However, there are some new obstacles.
It is not only the negotiation between Suning and BC Partners that has led the San Siro new stadium to remain behind the scenes. According to what has been reported by Calcio e Finanza, in fact, in recent days a meeting was staged between Inter and Milan and the mayor Beppe Sala, who ran for a second term as mayor, with a view to the upcoming election campaign. The decision has been taken by the current city councillors to defer all discussions related to the new stadium facility construction until after the new council is elected and decided upon in the spring.
Representatives of both clubs met with city mayor Beppe Sala for talks, they were asked to keep a low profile until after the elections are done.
