AC Milan target Otavio, whose contract expires with his club FC Porto by the end of the season, will eventually not renew his engagement with the dragons, as the Brazilian has already turned down the Liga NOS side's proposal with a salary of 2 million euros.
According to Portuguese Channel SIC Noticias, the 25-year-old refused Milan's offer as well, with club's technical director Paolo Maldini, offering the same amount as Porto in a four-year contract to the player's representatives, joined by a signing bonus of €1.5M.
For his part, the former International player made a counter-offer to the Rossoneri, in which he asks for a four-seasons contract with a €3M salary and a signing bonus of €6M. An offer that the Serie A's current leaders are not willing to make as reported by Mercado Aberto, while the name of club rival Inter Milan is also being mentioned.
For the record, The Vancouver Whitecaps FC have also offered the player $2M per season with a signing bonus of $5M. The proposal was considered by Otávio but ended up expiring as the Canadian club had set a deadline until January 14, as confirmed by the MLS side to Mercado Aberto.
