In an interview given to Goal, West Ham center-back Fabian Balbuena has spoken about his compatriot Gustavo Gomez, former AC Milan defender, who has recently reached Copa Libertadores glory with his club Palmeiras, as the 29-year-old was asked whether it is him or Gomez the best Paraguayan defender after ex-national team captain Carlos Gamarra.
"I can't talk about myself, I don't like it, it's not my style to boast too much. I will say that it is Gómez. Maybe we are on the same level. Gomez is a great defender, a natural leader. He has been demonstrating this. At AC Milan, he was not lucky enough to play a lot, but we know his quality, I have known him for a long time. He will continue to grow." replied Balbuena.
