Giulio Maggiore is the face of Spezia who plays well and won against Milan. Author of the 1-0 goal that unlocked the match, in the post-match the midfielder who grew up in Spezia spoke of his passion for Inter: "I still support Inter, I remember everything about the Treble."
Giulio Maggiore is the symbol of Spezia , the club in which he grew up and did the whole process: youths, Serie B, Serie A. Always a protagonist, as against Milan, defeated also thanks to his goal, that of 1- 0. A win that has a special flavour for him also as an Inter fan in addition to being a Spezia player.
Maggiore was a great Inter fan. Today he still defines himself as a "sympathiser", despite the fact that the profession as a footballer obviously changes the prospects. But the goal against Milan, in some ways, was still special for him.
"I continue to sympathize with Inter. As a child, I was a fan, I remember everything about the Treble. This victory is obviously important for us and let's see if it will be important for Inter in view of their game against Lazio."
The story of Maggiore is curious and interesting, because he has further links with Milan. As a child at an audition with the Rossoneri he showed up with an Inter gear.
"I had this white bathrobe with the Inter emblem, but I didn't notice. I went to audition and they said: 'We like you, everything is fine, but next time avoid the Inter bathrobe."
The audition actually went well, enough to convince Milan to focus on the young Maggiore. The talent, clearly, is what brought him to Serie A with Spezia. He didn't last long in the Rossoneri, as often happens at that age. Nostalgia for home brought him back to Liguria, where the journey with the Eagles of La Spezia began.
"I have no regrets. La Spezia welcomed me very well immediately, it's my city, I'm proud to be part of this club and to have arrived in Serie A with them. The past is the past, I have no regrets and I think to the present."
