Milannews.it had an exclusive interview with Portuguese journalist David Pereira of the "Diário de Notícias" when they touched topics on Rafael Leao's current form, the growth of Manchester United loanee Diogo Dalot and the possible signing of Porto star Otávio whose contract expires at the end of the season.
On Leao's performances and best position:
"Leao is versatile and can play across all attacking positions on the field, his display depends on the kind of opponent he faces. He is very fast and he is a joy to watch when he has space to attack but against tighter defenses he struggles. During his time in France, he played as a center forward but while in Portugal he played on the flanks".
On if Leao is considered a rising star in Portugal:
"The youngster has shown great promise for the future and is one of the great prospects of Portuguese football and might be called up for the next squads of the senior national team. Portugal has a lot of attackers playing at the top level now like Cristiano Ronaldo, João Félix, Bernardo Silva, and Diogo Jota, and head coach Fernando Santos, prefers players who are playing a lot at the club level, unfortunately, Leao is not a regular for Milan".
On Diogo Dalot's growth:
"Diogo Dalot is one of the most important Portuguese footballers of the 1999 golden generation for him things moved too fast. He has had many problems with injuries, and the constant change from left-back to right-back has restricted his progress".
On Milan target Otavio:
" Otavio is a player with very good technical abilities who can play across all positions in midfield and even on the wings, but he is also quite aggressive. He will be a good signing for AC Milan, but I cannot say he is better than Calhanoglu".
