Actually, Brahim used to play for City counterparts before joining Los Blancos in January 2019. Therefore, the Sky Blues decided to insert the aforementioned clause in the contract stating that Madrid would be liable to pay a 40 per cent sell-on fee if they sell Diaz to another Manchester club, as reported by British tabloid The Mirror.
