For the first time, Internazionale have emerged victorious from a Milan Derby and, worth noting, the most important of them until now. At minute 4, Marinelli broke the deadlock after the converting from the penalty rebound and Moller doubled the lead while Giacinti scored for the rossonere, granting at least one away goal. The Copa Italia semi-final second leg will take place on April 24/25.
Here the player ratings:
Starting eleven
Korenciova (6) – Made up for her mistake, which originated the penalty, by saving it, but unfortunately couldn’t avoid Marinelli’s goal from the rebound and, against Moller screamer, there was nothing she could do.
Bergamaschi (5,5) – Vale was not on her best form as a right fullback. She really struggled defensively and left too much to desire on her passing skills today.
Fusetti (5,5) – After she conceded the penalty, had a fairly decent game.
Agard (6) – Much like her companion, didn’t conceded much space for the nerazzurre after their goals.
Tucceri-Cimini (5) - Did her best to offer some attacking options, but the outcome was poor.
Conc (5) – In an unusual poor performance, she failed to leave her mark and most times made the wrong decision when in possession.
Rask (6) - Shielded the ball smartly at times and moved the ball accurately on the pitch, even adding an assist to her name.
Grimshaw (5) – Another Disappointing game for the Scottish.
Hasegawa (6,5) – Even playing out of position and suffering from the physicality of Inter’s midfield, she had a consistent performance, creating a lot of chances with her moves.
Dowie (5) – At this point of the season, her partnership and feeling with Giacinti should be better, but at points they seem to play for themselves. Also, lost a very good opportunity to level the game at its end.
Giacinti (6,5) – Worked extremely hard throughout the whole game by creating spaces and motivating the team, finding the back of the net once, but it was not enough. Working on her feeling with Dowie is a must at this point.
Substitutes:
Kulis (6) – Replaced Tucceri-Cimini and did a slightly better job attacking.
Mauri (5,5) – Once again offered fighting spirit, but the team really was in desperate need of quality, not strength.
Coach:
Ganz (4,5) – Changing the formation to a 4-3-1-2 was a good move, but mad poor decisions by deploying Conc and Grimshaw together and Hasegawa in the middle as a trequartista, while the Japanese excels in the left flank. In addition, he could have used the bench a lot better to change the game.
