The AC Milan are back in the winning ways after beating Empoli at home thanks to Natasha Dowie, who have scored her 10th league goal through a sweet assist by Veró Boquete.
Starting XI:
Korenciova (6): A privileged spectator during most of the match, but, when called in action, responded well.
Vitale (5,5): Replacing the still injured Spinelli, did not offered a strong outing as the right side was often explored by the Tuscan side.
Agard (6,5): Hands down the best defender today.
Fusetti (6): So much grinta and cuore for the #6 as she made no mistakes today.
Rizza (5): Alongside Vitale, struggled defensively, allowing Empoli to thrive on that side of the field. Ganz noticed that and replaced her at the minute 49.
Hasegawa (6): In the first half, the Japanese international played much more as a left winger than central midfield and had an exceptionally good outing. In the second half, though, she played more retracted, allowing Veró to advance and had some difficulty defending.
Jane (6,5): No doubt Fifi is the regista this team needs. Before haltime break, she managed to keep Empoli at bay almost by herself, giving much room to both Hasegawa and Veró create scoring opportunities.
Veró (7): Fantastic game by the Spaniard, adding another assist to her name on the league, specially after playing in a mora advance role on the pitch. Almost scored in the first half, hitting the post twice.
Bergamaschi (6): Does not matter if she is deployed as a left or right winger, always shows composure and offers important supporting runs. Still, has to improve her passing accuracy.
Giacinti (6,5): The skipper fights for every ball, helps the build up from the midfield but, this time, she lacked not accuracy, but the luck to find the back of the net.
Dowie (7,5): This time the Brit’s hard work during all the game paid off with a crucial goal in the second half, reaching two figures in her tally this season.
Substitutes:
Kulis (6): The Bosnian midfield turned left-winger is really showing signs of progress at her new role on both phases of the game.
Mauri (6): Replaced a tired Jane in the second half, took her time to get in the game but had a good performance afterwards.
