AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli has spoken in the press conference today after the Rossoneri's win against Genoa in Serie A. Here are his statements:
On Mandzukic:
“Mario can give us a big hand, we took him in January with this goal. His characteristics are important. I'm happy that he made a strong contribution to today's victory”.
On how much this success is worth:
“It's worth three points, we've taken a step forward. The team has felt the pressure not to win for a long time at home, this victory can give us confidence and push for the next matches”.
On the victory:
"The team played well, but did not take advantage of the opportunities, threw away the opportunities that could give a double advantage, but we suffered, then we were good at containing them".
On winning at San Siro:
“We will also be a young team but then the pressures are there, you can read the numbers at home. Winning was important”.
On midfield being often in trouble:
"I didn't see a midfield in difficulty, we had to verticalize more, but I saw an orderly team."
