History is made and it wears red and black. After a goalless draw against Sassuolo at the Enzo Ricci Stadium, the AC Milan Women have mathematically secure Champions League football next season.
Here are the player ratings:
Starting XI
Babb (6,5) – Answered the call by putting a decent outing today, making at least 2 high-level saves.
Vitale (7) – Made herself reckoned by imposing her physical game, especially on aerial duels, and anticipating several passes.
Agard (6,5) – Had a little hard time to adjust her pace and positioning in order to properly contain the opponents in the first half but had a good second half.
Fusetti (7,5) – She promised to give her best after the loss against Fiorentina and kept her promise. A rock-solid performance by the vice-captain.
Bergamaschi (7) – Support runs, cuore and tactical discipline. Once more, she was an unstoppable arrow down the right wing.
Jane (6) – Second match in a row that she fails to delivery those performances we are so used to see.
Vero (6,5) – Worked really hard on both phases of the game, but this time she lacked a little pass accuracy.
Hasegawa (7) – An absolute star of this team, recovered possession of the balls innumerous times and pressed high up on the pitch. Hit the post on one occasion and had a long-range effort save by Lemey.
Tucceri Cimini (6,5) – Much like Bergamaschi, she had a solid defensive performance, but her offensive presence was missed this time.
Grimshaw (6) – A poor first half of the game but made it up by working hard defensively after the halftime break. Wasted two clear chances to break the deadlock.
Giacinti (6,5) – Sassuolo’s defensive sector was well organized enough to prevent her goals, but the captain did have a decent outing.
Coach:
Ganz (6) – This time he prepped the team well and had the right, and pragmatic, approach to the game. Once again, no use of the bench.
