AS Roma have officially announced the contract extension of club's attacking midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan until 30 June 2022.
The Armenia international was said to be among the leading candidates to replace AC Milan's playmaker Hakan Calhanoglu - should the latter end up rejecting renewal proposals - But the 32-year-old has eventually renewed his agreement with the Giallorossi and therefore confirms his stay at the capital of Italy.
“Over the last two years at Roma I’ve fallen in love, both with the club and the city, thanks in large part to the incredible passion of the fans." declared Mkhitaryan.
