AC Milan Women director Elisabet Spina spoke to the Tuttosport microphones in an exclusive interview and shed a light on several interesting topics, such as calciomercato, this season’s results and more.
Here are her words:
On renewing Ganz’s contract:
"He brought results, not only on the field, but the growth skills that he provides to the players every day. Maurizio has managed to work with extreme professionalism, competence, and humility. He has entered the history of the club with the results as a footballer, he is also doing so as a coach. The closeness of society has been fundamental, they make themselves and their support known on a daily basis. The girls perceive the proximity and I think the club stood out for it. It expresses the value you want to give to women's football. It is something unique, because even in the big European clubs we don't see it that much".
On the transfer window:
"First of all, it was essential to reconfirm international players who are important in the project. Important players will surely arrive that can help to give even more value to a squad that has already been competitive. We also want to have young talents who can grow with us."
On the 2020-2021 season:
"It was a tiring season due to the pandemic, but at the same time extremely rewarding because we managed to achieve the fundamental goal: to make it to the next Champions League. We have also made further growth in being able to bring dedicated international players to Serie A. We will enter an international competition for the first time. It will not be easy, the goal is to make us find ourselves as ready as possible, representing the club and the history of the Rossoneri shirt in Europe"
