AZ Alkmaar captain Teun Koopmeiners, who was reportedly close from joining AS Roma and has long been monitored by AC Milan in the past, is now apparently making his way to sign for fellow Serie A club Atalanta, as the football director of the Dutch side Max Huiberts has confirmed talks with the black-and-blue club. Here are his words:
“Talks with Atalanta? That doesn’t mean we’re done yet. I will not comment on amounts. We still have Fredrik Midtsjø and we have extended the contracts of Jordy Clasie and Tijjani Reijnders. In addition, talented midfielders from our youth academy will participate in the preparation for the A-selection. We have enough good midfielders.”
