Fluminense's promising forward Marcos Paulo has reportedly joined Spanish heavyweights Atletico Madrid for free, amid reported interest from AC Milan ahead of the next summer transfer window.
According to what was revealed by the well-known Spanish newspaper AS, the Brazilian wonderkid has already became a Rojiblanco, as La Liga champions have submitted an offer on the first day that the player was free to negotiate with another club.
“The initial intention of Marcos Paulo and his representatives was not to go free, they have tried to give the club some kind of financial compensation. But the reality of the pandemic spoiled the plans and, in the end, the opportunity to go to Atlético was considered irrefutable." clarified Globo Esporte reporter Felipe Siqueira.
