Barcelona are looking to strengthen their backline with a centre-back and their sights have reportedly set on AC Milan's Italian centre-back of 26 years of age, Alessio Romagnoli.
Romagnoli has lost his starting spot because Fikayo Tomori proved his worth in the last season, which made Milan activate their buy-option to sign him on a permanent move from Chelsea.
According to Sport, Barça are keen on Romagnoli whose contract is set to expire at the end of the next season campaign. He will leave this summer. In fact, in Spain, they are talking about Milan selling him during this transfer window because the managers do not want to lose him on a free. There will be no contract extension for the player.
In return, AC Milan are understood to keep an eye on two players in the squad of Ronald Koeman: Miralem Pjanic and Philippe Coutinho. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold here.
