AC Milan continues to work in the market to reinforce the squad available already to coach Stefano Pioli. Paolo Maldini and sporting director Frederic Massara are working to provide the coaching staff with an adequate squad that would have 2 players per position.
In this sense, the Rossoneri club leaders are evaluating the midfield and the possibilities of letting Tommaso Pobega leave and signing Tiémoué Bakayoko.
As we are all aware, Bakayoko is familiar with Serie A and Milanello as he spent time there in the 2018/2019 season. Pioli could take advantage of this potential transfer because Bakayoko would add so much needed physicality to the squad and midfield in particular. He could also be a reliable asset due to his experience in the Champions League and in Serie A already. Bakayoko would be able to play well with Tonali and Bennacer, writes Milannews.it.
As for Tommaso Pobega, he is very different to the French player of Chelsea. He obviously does not have the important experience which Bakayoko has to his name but he does have two good seasons already in his legs in Serie B and in Serie A last term. Pobega is tactically flexible, promising and young. The former Spezia midfielder could be used both in Pioli's two-man midfield and in a more advanced position and give the coach many tactical ideas and solutions.
Milannews.it reports that "the arrival of the Frenchman would not necessarily presuppose the departure of the Trieste but certainly, to guarantee the right space, the two could take away space from each other." Therefore, that is why there are ongoing evaluations at the offices of Maldini and Massara regarding this topic.
