One of the names being followed by AC Milan is Atalanta's Slovenian 33-year-old experienced player Josip Ilicic. The Rossoneri placed him on the shortlist among other profiles being evaluated to take over the role vacated by Hakan Calhanoglu who chose to wear Inter's shirt for the next few years.
Atalanta's coach, Gian Piero Gasperini spoke about Ilicic's situation after the friendly game against Pordenone. Here are his words:
"At the end of the season, Ilicic clearly expressed the desire to have new experiences and find new emotions. The intention is to please him , but at the moment there are no particular movements. He did well in the preparations. It is an indication of excellent health, he has not skipped a minute of training and has never complained about anything. It has never happened since I have been here. In my opinion, he is preparing to find a team that will give him the possibility to do something important again, he still has the means to do it."
