Simon Kjaer was present during the press conference with coach Stefano Pioli to discuss the fixture against Liverpool in the Champions League.
Here are the experienced Dane's words:
"Playing in the Champions League leads to playing against the best. It is always better to face the best, tomorrow we will start our journey and it is a special emotion. Head held high, we know what we can and must do."
On the preparations for the match:
"The team is absolutely ready. We have prepared them well, we are well on the way. It is for matches like these that we play football. We will go there with the utmost respect, but we are Milan."
On his moment now:
"We are definitely better than last year, we have grown from every point of view. I think I am playing the best football of my career. I know where I am good and where not, more players must be put in the best conditions."
On the team's progress:
"Surely there has been growth from last year's Europa League preliminaries to today. All the experiences have served us, I think our start to the season is showing it", declared Kjaer before adding, "I think we are in a good moment, but there will be many games, many victories and many defeats. The spirit must not be lacking, as it has never been lacking. If there is the mentality of always improving, I am convinced we will do well."
On the long and difficult games in this season ahead:
"For a team that wants to win and compete at every level, there must be at least two players per position. Until December 23 there will be about 32 games if I'm not mistaken: I won't play all 32 (laughs)."
