AC Milan continued the positive streak in Serie A after a great win against Hellas Verona after losing the first half 2-0 in what was a terrible display.
The team of Stefano Pioli came back in the second half with much determination and willingness. Olivier Giroud scored the first goal thanks to a header thanks to a cross by Rafael Leao. Franck Kessié scored from the spot after a penalty caused by Samu Castillejo. Then, Castillejo forced an own goal and Milan won thanks to a great team performance.
The referee, Prontera, however, did have a bad night. Former fellow official Luca Marelli, who is now an analyst. He focused on the penalty awarded to Hellas Verona after an alleged foul on Nikola Kalinic by Alessio Romagnoli.
Here are his words to Radio 24:
"It was a hard Saturday. The one on Barella, which is very light, and that of Milan is a contact on the ankle. The one given to Verona? The on-field review would be a necessity there. I don't want to go into a mess, because I wasn't there in the VAR room, but we need to understand if this image from which Kalinic's foul on Romagnoli is evident was available or not."
