Legendary French former striker, Jean-Pierre Pain, who did play for AC Milan in the past granted an interview to the microphones of Milan TV:
"I was lucky enough to play in the Champions League for eight years. I must say that it is the best competition that exists. My job was to score. The most important thing, in all the teams I played for, was to score as many goals as possible, because it was important for us. Milan is a legendary club. It is a team in the history of the Champions League and also of Europe as a whole, it was one of the most beautiful teams to have won the most trophies. When I arrived at Milan, my greatest dream was to win the Champions League. Because I had already lost it with Marseille. When I arrived in this team, the only trophy I was missing was that one. It is too important."
Papin continued:
"I enjoyed watching the first game against Liverpool, because Liverpool didn't deserve to win 3-2. But Liverpool is Liverpool. Right now it is one of the strongest teams in the Champions League. The regret is above all for that match against Atlético Madrid, where you win 1-0 and then lose. Football is tough. When you lose this kind of games, you can have many, many regrets. There is a special philosophy in this team, which you must not only understand, but learn. I see Theo Hernández, who is now in the national team, he scored a beautiful goal. But then in the player's behaviour, from what I saw two years earlier, a lot has changed. This is the Milan philosophy that makes the difference. We, in France, work well with young people and when they come to this type of team they are able to play the best football possible. That is important to us", said Papin, "When you wear this shirt, the only chance is to win. There are 85 thousand people at San Siro who dream that Milan will always win. I have never forgotten this club, which is one of the largest clubs in Europe. Itwas a privilege for me to play for this team."
