Samu Castillejo was a big reason behind the win against Hellas Verona the other day because he was the one that won his teammates a penalty which was later scored by Franck Kessié. Then, he sent a cross in the penalty box which caused a clumsy reaction from Hellas Verona's defender as he accidentally sent it past his goalkeeper.
The Spanish winger number 7 lived througha difficult summer and was out of Stefano Pioli's plans. But, his chance came and he took it eventually.
As pointed out by La Gazzetta dello Sport in today's edition, the Rossoneri fans poured a lot of love on Castillejo in the stadium and also on social media. But, it was not only the fans, his teammates are excited and happy for him.
Davide Calabria commented on a post of the right-winger with "I love you brother". Bakayoko, Kessié and Kalulu also commented with emoticones of hearts and applause. Even former teammates at Milan such as Mateo Musacchio and Diogo Dalot were also happy for him as they congratulated him for his performance.
Castillejo, as Gazzetta continues to explain, may have been born and raised in Malaga but he has a Rossonero heart. In fact, there is a photo of him when he was just a child at the San Siro wearing AC Milan merchandise.
