Matchday 10 ended for AC Milan with three points collected against Torino. The game started with Torino pressing and trying to break the tempo of the game which Milan prefers to create.
However, Milan were able to get control of the game and take the lead thanks to a corner as Olivier Giroud managed to put the ball past the goalkeeper thanks to smart positioning that he is so good at thanks to a header assist from Rade Krunic.
The Rossoneri players, after the goal started to take more initiatives with the ball after that goal. There was more domination in the midfield. However, Torino proved to be a very stubborn side. Physically, they were very competitive. For Torino, Wilfried Singo played a good game and proved to be difficult to handle against Pierre Kalulu.
During the second half, AC Milan coach, Pioli, had his team enter the field with a few changes. Theo Hernandez returned for the first time after a stop due to Covid-19. The French full-back took his compatriot's place, Kalulu, on the left flank. Alessio Romagnoli who was already booked in the first 10 minutes of the game was also replaced by the experienced Dane defender Simon Kjaer.
Ivan Juric's men came in with a clearly brave attitude in the first half. They pressed high and ran a lot in order to get the ball and drive it forward.
Coach Pioli's men managed the match well, despite being put in some difficult moments a couple of times. This game was all about tactical battles in midfield and details, as we have explained to you in our preview. Il Diavolo was only able to visit the net of Torino thanks to a corner. This shows how much set-pieces are important. Sometimes, when a team can't find its way to a goal with individual skills or open-plays, set-pieces are the answer.
AC Milan fans can rejoice and rightfully so. Plagued with injuries, Stefano Pioli and his team can continue to collect important points in Serie A. Now, the players and coaching staff can celebrate three precious points.
