Inter's boss, Simone Inzaghi, who started leading the team this season after taking over from Antonio Conte, spoke to the media about the derby in a press conference. Here are his words:
"The derby will be an intense match. We know its importance for the fans and the club. We want to close the match with the best way possible."
Simone Inzaghi On Calhanoglu:
"There are still some training sessions left. In the middle of the pitch I have excellent solutions, Calha played an excellent match against Udinese, Vidal was fundamental in the Champions League, with Empoli Gagliardini did well, Vecino always puts me in difficulty and Sensi is coming back and deserves more space. I have a great team, there's great competition and that's okay with me."
On AC Milan:
"In these games, the rankings do not matter and are reset to zero. Both phases, attacking and defending must be executed well. AC Milan and Napoli are doing a very good championship that has never been seen in the last 40 years. Congratulations are in order for them."
On coaching his previous team in many derbies:
"Derbies are separate matches in a championship, two matches that you must prepare for them really well. This is my first in Milan and there is great desire and enthusiasm, then it depends even if it happens after a Champions League match, but I saw the faces right and the conviction that is needed. We are doing excellent things, the numbers show it. We must congratulate Napoli and Milan on their path so far. Winning tomorrow would increase our convictions, but we will also have to suffer all together."
